Canvases, fabrics, cross-stitches, tapestries, batiks papyrus etc. can all be stretched over stretcher bars or acid-free boards. All our stretcher bars are individually constructed from shamfered pine of varying depths, widths and profiles (flat or wedged). All our stretcher bars are sourced from 100% well managed forests and certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. Large formats will be braced to avoid distortion over time. Once stretched all items can then be framed or hung unframed, commonly known as a wrap-round. and very popular for contemporary settings.

Particular care should be taken when dealing with delicate and fragile items such as silks or antique pieces. To avoid putting unwanted stress into the item stretching is not appropriate. These items can be placed between two sheets of glass and backed with suitable coloured board. This treatment not only preserves the item but results in a very pleasing floating effect within the frame.
